<Drakh> ooh our first exchange problem!
<Drakh> a user uses outlook everyday to export files, can this be done in webmail?
<Envador> export files?
<wlse_pro> do you mean export as?
<wlse_pro> like, export emails into a PST file?
<wlse_pro> that's the only thing i use export for...for when i don't want to wait for an autoarchive and want to throw a bunch of crap into a .PST
<Drakh> no he actually drags and drops his email messages into folders for others to read and as a reference
<Envador> he can make rules
<Envador> oh wait...
<Drakh> no...
<wlse_pro> he wants to do that via webmail?
<Envador> where are those folders? as in on a network drive?
<wlse_pro> i don't think it works like that
<Envador> lemme see
<wlse_pro> webmail is just the HTML-ized version of your inbox
<wlse_pro> i don't think you can just drag an email off.
<Envador> it doesn't work
<Envador> hehe it'll drag a shortcut to the C: drive
<wlse_pro> you might be able to drag a shortcut to the mail
<wlse_pro> but that won't be useful unless...well, at all :P
<Envador> yeah, no use at all :)
<Drakh> ight
<Drakh> right
<Drakh> envador, yes a network drive
<Drakh> im thinking he will just have to use outlook inside the building, and webmail from home
<Drakh> (no vpn for external outlook usage, and no way i am setting up MS firewalls)
<Envador> drakh, use OWANotify from home!
<Envador> it rocks :)
<Envador> <spam>
<Drakh> Envador
<Drakh> outlook already notifies me...
<Drakh> *owa
<Envador> :) but owanotify notifies you when you dont even have a browser window open
<Drakh> OOOOH
<Drakh> lol
<Envador> so you dont have to worry about keeping the browser window open. ALSO, it pops up a little window with the FROM and SUJBEcT
<Drakh> ok i will look into it
<Drakh> ok stop spamming
<Drakh> spam is the devil :'(
<Envador> ok fine fine :)
<Envador> but i have to show you think link at least :) http://www.envador.com/owanotify
<Drakh> >:[
<Drakh> fix my OWA problem and ill use it
<Envador> you can't drag drop from OWA
<Envador> but wihtin OWA you can drop drop between folders on the users' mailbox....
<Envador> not sure if that helps or not
<Drakh> :'(
<Phoenix--> I'm trying to migrate from exchange 2000 to 2k3 and am having some issues? Can anyone help?
<Phoenix--> Anyone here?
<pukey> yes
<pukey> there are plenty of people here
<pukey> sometimes patience along with asking a specific question goes a long way
<Phoenix--> Anyone awake in here?
<pukey> yes
<pukey> you just have to be patient
<Phoenix--> k
<Phoenix--> I've been away for a while. Are there other chats about exchange?
<Phoenix--> know how to move databases in e2k3?
<Phoenix--> same a e2k?
<Drakh> as of 10 minutes ago exchange has gone live
<Drakh> !!
<Drakh> just change the firewall port mappings
<J2k^> which fireawll?
<Drakh> exciting!!
<Drakh> the firewall at work
<Drakh> *changed
<J2k^> i mean what firewall?
<Drakh> changed smtp etc.. to point to the new server
<J2k^> pix?
<Drakh> linux
<J2k^> urgggg
<Drakh> ?
<Drakh> are you saying you don't realize that unix makes great firewalls?
<J2k^> hehe
<J2k^> i'm not doubting tho
<Drakh> then what are you saying
<J2k^> how many user is this environment?
<Drakh> 130
<J2k^> it only using iptable fireall?
<Drakh> yes
<J2k^> nice
<Drakh> iptables
<Drakh> are you hinting that 130 is alot for iptables? lol
<J2k^> does it have log?
<Drakh> probably not
<Drakh> that would fill the hard drives on it up
<Drakh> I did not set it up
<Drakh> it was there before my time
<Drakh> but it has always been great... super fast... reliable
<J2k^> what if your management want to see the log of the firewall?
<Drakh> management is too dumb to read firewall logs
<Drakh> they barely know what a firewall is
<Drakh> they'd probably think I'm talking about the barrier built into cars to help prevent injury incase of engine fires
<J2k^> what if your management want to see IDS firewall log
<J2k^> want to know if the fireall log anythign at all
<Drakh> we don't have an IDS
<Drakh> well it could be logging
<J2k^> incase of someone got in
<Drakh> I've never bothered to ask
<Drakh> ill find out
<J2k^> ok
<J2k^> then it's not really a true firewall
<J2k^> just piece of generic fireawll
<J2k^> i agree with you're a great piece of firewall
<Drakh> a firewall is anything that filters tcp IP packets
<Drakh> beyond that it's all up to the person
<Drakh> jesus the definition of a firewall has been twisted so much no one actually knows anymore
<J2k^> any1 apply exchange sp2 yet?
<Drakh> no don't do it
<Adonis> so is there like an windows update for Exchange
<Adonis> to tell what I actually need to download?
<Adonis> lol oh wow Service Pack 2 is out
<DortoH> microsoft update will scan exchange
<Adonis> I run the Microsoft update
<Adonis> but I never seen any Exchange updates
<Adonis> ever
<Adonis> something I am doing wrong?
<DortoH> when you first load up windows update, on the right hand side somewhere it tells you to update to Microsoft Update
<Adonis> so not the WIndows update
<Adonis> a microsoft update then
<DortoH> yessir
<Adonis> ohhhhhhhhhhhh
<DortoH> ;)
<Adonis> well then that answers my question
<Adonis> lol
<Adonis> hope this doesn't screw me over
<DortoH> nah its just updates the links to the new site
<Adonis> no I mean installing them
<Adonis> lol
<DortoH> oh hehe
<DortoH> don't forget your backup
<Adonis> yeah I backup my system state before I do any updates
<Adonis> it's installing Office XP service 3?
<Adonis> on my server
<Adonis> isn't that weird ?
<Adonis> I don't even have office installed on my server
<Adonis> have you installed service 2 yet DortoH?
<Adonis> wow this MIcrosoft update is kind of kewl
<DortoH> indeed
<Adonis> I figured there must be something like this
<wlse_pro> which update?
