<Lup|ne> however, it *IS* taxed twice. It is taxed once from your regular paycheck that you pay into the unemployment-fund.. and tehn taxed when you collect

<Linus--> well, i remember getting UI, which for me was at the max rate at that time
<Linus--> about 12k/yr

<bmc> was only spose to be $250
<Linus--> and then owing taxes on it, but also qualifying for EIC if i had worked point

<Linus--> i went from one 15 hr/wk job to another one, essentially earning the same if not more

<Linus--> i had no idea i had to notify EDD if i chnaged job but my earnings stayed same or were better
<Linus--> i got 270/wk back in,

<Linus--> the awful thing was, i had been managing to keep up my payments, until i wrote a check from a line of credit checking acct that had an old routing number
<Linus--> which i was never informed of by the credit company to destroy
<bmc> well if i get foreclosed on, they can have the house, cause im not gonna want it afterwards
<Linus--> they sent me new checks, didn't tell me to destroiy old ones
