<Linus--> and all my credit cards reduced my ceiling to the point of debt i was already at

<Null_Ptr> the problem is if you go through life with a "those bastards look what they did to me" attitude you'll find that (from your perspective) they do it over and over until you die. you gotta change that by putting the shoe on the other foot. if you think people treat you unfairly, don't let them do it anymore.
<Linus--> yes, i was digging myself into more debt, but not a hole so deep that id have to default on all at once

<Linus--> one would think if it got sent back to the bank, theyd see wat had happened and clear it with the updated routing number, since i was in good standfing

<Null_Ptr> i think if i knew i had no job and was in the countdown to foreclosure, i would sell my house. there. be done with it. put it on the market at a fire sale price. even if that left me with a little debt left over to repay the initial lender. at least i would have fulfilled my obligation and have acted honorably by stepping up to the table.

<CometBaby> US you don't actually have to cancel your CC and get a new one, if the rate goes up. I just call them, and tell them that I have been offered a lower rate, and will they match it. They always have.

<US-Male> sometimes they will lower it -- other times I've accepted a new one for that low rate, and now I have more than I need -- so I take them all out and make phone calls, cancel whoever won't lower the rate

<bud``> i deposited a 3rd party BANK check into an account once, and several checks were floated that depended on this one deposit.. the bank sent me back the check saying they dont want a 3rd party check, and then charged me $30 fine for violating obscure policy, then several checks bounced because of this, each with a $25 fee, and before I knew it my account balance was -$854. **** that ****.. Im a firm believer in CASH now
