<bmc> with his current g/f
<bmc> the two boys and girl i bet were both born addicted to methadone
<Timur> http://www.frappr.com/wearepolitics
<bmc> and had to be withdrawn off it
<Linus-> wait? he's married and has a g/f who has a kid?
<bmc> the mother has 3 kids and has had 5 abortions
<Timur> bmc: wonder how much he pays in child supprt
<bmc> no, not married
<bmc> Timur $0
<Timur> holy crap, Jerry Springer wannabes
<Linus-> no kidding
<bmc> hes a piece of work
<Timur> sorry if I sound 'elitist' for saying so
<Timur> well, not really ;)
<Linus-> men who impregante several women and then leave the kids behind disgust me
<bmc> they ***** they cant buy their kids clothes and shoes and what not
<Hangfire> I am elitist
<bmc> yet they have a bottle of liquor every night
<bmc> heh
<Hangfire> but then again with the likes of rond trying to butt heads with me
<Hangfire> what on earth do you expect me to do but feel superior about myself
<bmc> so their grandparents have to buy them everything
<Timur> rond seems like a responsible caring parent and person, generally
<Timur> he said he did a bunch of volunteer work with the Katarina hurricane refugees
<Linus-> bmc, like good co-dependents
<Katey> Eh. If you suspect neglect, call SS
<Hangfire> I just sent money over
<Katey> If something terrible happened, you'd really regret not doing something
<bmc> well its not so much neglect, than it is, i feel they are unfit parents
<Katey> Social Services will have to investigate I think
<bmc> they arent really neglected cause others buy them the **** they need
<Katey> bmc, not supervising your kids is neglect
<Linus-> unless there's outright abuse, its unlikely they'll be removed
<bmc> but they shouldnt be left alone with their parents
<Linus-> neglect is hard to prove, and rarely is a cause for removal unfortunately
<Katey> Linus-, eh. Then you report each incident that you're aware of
<Katey> multiple complaints
<bmc> its all heresay
<Katey> Removal might not be necessary
<Timur> not feeding them or clothing them is too
<Timur> it's hearsay unless and until the authorities check and determine what's what
<Linus-> I'm just telling you the reality of the swamped child welfare dept
<bmc> basically i need to get me a camera
<Hangfire> bmc pretty much
<Hangfire> witnesses aren't worth crap tbh
<Linus-> ***ual abuse allegations, they're out in a flash
<Hangfire> physical evidence is key
<bmc> she'll fall asleep and the kids will wander upstairs and get into all kinds of crap
<Hangfire> either video/phoographic or medical
<Linus-> physical abuse, in a pattern, is also instant removal
<bmc> then when you go ***** at her
<Linus-> but the grey areas...
<bmc> shes like *****ing about some stupid **** that is irrelevant
<Katey> social services might simply mandate some sort of continued follow-up visits of supervision of some kind
<bmc> ill be like 'the kids are upstairs getting into ****'
<Katey> or parenting cl***es, etc
<bmc> and get this, this will be her response
<Katey> Removal isn't the only option
<bmc> 'the god damn cat pisses on the car seats'
<Linus-> bmc, you have other siblings?
<bmc> wtf
<bmc> it makes no sense
<bmc> i swear they arent right in the head
<bmc> you ever know someone like that?
<Linus-> of course
<bmc> for everything you say, they have something completely irrevelant to add to the conversation
<Linus-> because they aren't listening
<Linus-> or they instantly deflect anything directed at them and go to something external as a cause of problems
<bmc> yes
<bmc> !
<bmc> denial
<Linus-> its not exactly denial, because that requires seeing a problem
<Linus-> its avoidance
<RustyFord> LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- A judge signed a death warrant Monday for Stanley "Tookie" Williams, a co-founder of the notorious Crips gang who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his children's books.
<RustyFord> Williams is scheduled to die December 13 at San Quentin prison.
<bmc> but it makes no sense
<Linus-> refusal to acknowledge a problem
<bmc> you ***** at her for her kids getting into knives or breaking ****
<bmc> and she wants to ***** about the cats
<bmc> or the dog **** in the backyard
<CometBaby> Thing is that we cannot count on social services to do their jobs. They are Govt employees and they are more interested in their coffee break. The put down that they made a visit and that's the end of it.
<bmc> wtf?!
<bmc> who cares about that ****
<Linus-> if you have other siblings, id consider an intervention
<bmc> we were addressing her incompetence
<Linus-> box them in
<bmc> and shes off in cloud 9
<CometBaby> there are endless cases of kids beaten to death and the Social Worker had it in their logs that they made regular visits .. and nobody ever saw her.
<trompe> if the cases are endless, then how come there are so many adult Americans?
<bmc> i cant even entirely blame them
<Linus-> caseloads are impossibly large
<CometBaby> thats really sad. They even lose kids in the system. Kids are sent somewhere and nobody knows where they went to.
<bmc> her parents and my mother are both enablers
<Timur> yeah, we should stop all social services
<bmc> damn idiots
<Timur> that would teach em
<Linus-> the system is fragmented as hell
<Linus-> its in bad shape
<bmc> i have *****ed at my mother tons of times
<bmc> i ever called her parents and told them i was gonna call SS
<Timur> agree, but since there's an obvious need to be met the solution isn't abandoning a solution
<bmc> they were like 'thats probably whats gonna have to happen'
<bmc> wtf
<CometBaby> timur .. you never debate the issue. You always take it to an extreme opposite and claim people said something they didn't. Nobody said to stop social services did they? Is that the ONLY way you know how to respond?
<rond> My aunt has been a social worker in all sorts of rolls and even doing jobs outside the social worker catagory as in Parole office, moving welfare workers off of welfare. There are bad social workers and then there are social workers who are beaten down by the system
<Timur> CB: so what's the solution then?
<Timur> I mean insofar as SS is concerned
<bmc> im just gonna zap out one day and solve the issue
<rond> my aunt fell into the latter catagory and no longer does any of that
<CometBaby> I guess that nobody can criticize them or state publicy what a poor job they do.
<Timur> CB: sure, but then the question is what the solution being sought is
<CometBaby> if you do .. timur will conclude that you just said to do away with them altogether.
<Timur> CB: well, I'm attempting to actually debate it, rather than use, for example, ad hominem attacks
<Timur> so what's the solution then, if at present social services 'are more interested in their coffee breaks'
<CometBaby> timur .. somone needs to clamp down on them. Someone needs to tell them there are more important things in this world but coffee breaks. They needs to lose their jobs and be replaced.
<CometBaby> that doesn't happen
<bmc> when his kids get older im going to have them terrorize their parents for their incompetence
<trompe> is this 'debating the issue'? : "<CometBaby> They are Govt employees and they are more interested in their coffee break."
<Timur> ok, but you don't think the way the SS is set up might have some part in their carelessness and laziness/
<Linus-> you ***ume its people just cruising thru their day?
<Linus-> maybe they truly are understaffed?
<CometBaby> trompe that is an opinion and yes, it is legitimate around here.
<Timur> I'm sure some, even many of them are dedicated committed people
<CometBaby> some are
<CometBaby> some aren't
<CometBaby> nobody gets rid of those that aren't
<Linus-> i admit theres no excuse for logging home visits that never occurred
<CometBaby> becoming a govt employee is almost like teaching .. once you are imbedded its very hard to get rid of you .. what they do is promote them out.
<Linus-> because that's just allowing the system to continue listing to one side
<trompe> CometBaby: so you're suggesting that all social services employees are more interested in their coffee breaks than in helping people? If all you wanted to do was relax, there are plenty of easier jobs than being a social worker
<Timur> CB: then there should be more oversight? or perhaps more resources given to them to reduce their often overwhelming burden/
<stopsign> Cheney Cited as Source in CIA Leak http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051025/ap_on_go_pr_wh/cia_leak_investigation
<bmc> SS employees are worried about their paycheck
<stopsign> wouldn't it be a hoot if bush has to fire cheney : )
<CometBaby> trompe .. there are not many easier jobs than govt jobs
<bmc> same as with the police
<bmc> and any other 'job'
<CometBaby> hours never change
<Linus-> theres bad employees in every line of work
<CometBaby> holidays
<bmc> no, its their job
<CometBaby> paid vacations
<CometBaby> paid sick leave
<trompe> CometBaby: you can't collapse all government jobs into one and say that social work is easy because it is a government job
<bmc> they arent doing it because its their life dream
<CometBaby> on and on and on and on
<CometBaby> coffee breask
<Linus-> i wouldnt want to go into homes of abusive, erratic parents to investigate
<Timur> well, it'd be a lot easier to be, say, a secretary or data-entry operator than visiting the houses of the perpetually and severely dysfunctional
<bmc> or they would be voluntarily doing it
