<Cathy344> When the Gulf War broke out, we had to scramble to bring a buttload of A-10s out of mothballs in the Nevada dessert.

<RustyFord> Cathy the big advantage was that A10's could hang in the air for long lengths of time, the f16 goes way to fast
<Cathy344> I think the A-10 is just a great looking plane. If I were a multi-bajillionare, I'd buy one for myself and strip it of armor for a pleasure cruiser.

<Cathy344> I also understand that the A-10 pilots have to be careful to keep their engine thrust up high enough when firing the pain gun to avoid falling below stall speed, mthe gun puts out so much thrust.
