<DarthBurg> Homedepot plans on selling record numbers of pieces of plywood. <Disbelief> JustHangi - what, you think that oil's 'natural' price is $30/barrel ? and that the extra $30 is just a premium ? <astrodog> hans: Sure. <DarthBurg> I just do not see these myth's you espouse <TimothyW> Cathy344 : Global Population Control Theory is a wacked out Conspiracy Theory. That is unbelieveable. <Disbelief> DarthBurg -- "the last five years the economy has rocked" ? are you serious ? <Swigert> hey guys <RustyFord> hahah the media is trying to drum up rage over FEMA's reaction to Hurricane Wilma <hans_kung> astrodog, I think just a few counties in Ohio and Kerry would have won, of course, that's another topic in of itself. The shady happenings in Ohio. <JustHangi> Disbelief yeah...basically. there's a big speculation premium at the moment. its not a supply shortage <Disbelief> DarthBurg "rocked" ? <Cathy344> TimothyW: I was reponding to lgcbmb's quip about thorwing a wa and everybody coming. <DeDannan> hans_kung, kinda hard to win without carrying Texas or Florida.. <DarthBurg> Disbelief i have the financial numbers to prove it. Sir. <hans_kung> DeDannan, yah I think so <Swigert> I have a computer problem - I think my explorer.exe file on my laptop is corrupted. I can't check directories <TimothyW> oh <Katey> DeDannan, yeah <hans_kung> Considering how many Presidents have come from the South, you wonder who really won the Civil War :P <Disbelief> justhangi - so you believe that speculation alone is driving the price of oil ? <astrodog> Its hard, but not undoable. You'd have to carry Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, etc. <Cathy344> Apparently, even my fingers are congested. <Disbelief> justhangi - do you believe all speculation is inherently incorrect ? <hans_kung> poor Cathy :( advil helps <TimothyW> hans_kung : The North is holding the Southerners accountable. <TimothyW> with giving them power. <DarthBurg> Swigert some nasty bugs going around. <Cathy344> So does the capital-N, small-Y, and big, fukin' Q. <JustHangi> Disbelief no...but its certainly having a huge effect at the moment. <Cathy344> I love NyQuil./ <DarthBurg> do a sweep on it, and slap the IE 6 pack on it <Disbelief> JustHangi - when will this moment subside ? <RustyFord> i just had to restore my ****, ended up with that plaguing Winfixer/vundo crap <Cathy344> hans_kung: The Bushes are transplanted M***achusettsans. <DarthBurg> oil is not going to cheapen up until the enviromental nuts get a clue. <hans_kung> Lets see Timothy... Johnson, Carter, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II. for six terms. In the last 40 years. That's quite a run for Southerners. <RustyFord> wifes friend was sending attached email from her work <hans_kung> wait, seven terms! <hans_kung> 28 years out of 40. <astrodog> Darth: Oil won't cheapen even if Greenpeace starts drilling wells themselves. <DeDannan> hans_kung, havent been that many since 1865 really...Wilson, LBJ, Carter...and Dubya... <hans_kung> almost 3/4 <DarthBurg> astrodog nonsense. <DeDannan> oh, and Billy Jeff <DarthBurg> astrodog hell TWO refineries, Greenpeace owned, would help <hans_kung> but for the modern times DeDannan with current voting habits, isn't that impressive still? <JustHangi> Disbelief thats a whole nother sort of crystal ball. in 1999, it wasnt hard to tell that speculation was driving AMZN stock price....but guessing the date it would end was virtually impossible <Cathy344> We shoulda been drilling for oil in the ANWR the week the debates started about it. <astrodog> Darth: Refineries do not impact the price of crude oil. ;) <DarthBurg> astrodog such ignorance from one who claims to work in the Oil field scares me <astrodog> Crude oil is the stuff that they get from the ground. NOT the stuff they get from refineries. <hans_kung> there weren't any states out west during the 1880s really except California, Oregon and Washington everything else was tumbleweeds :P <DarthBurg> astrodog, really? are you sure about that? <DeDannan> hans_kung, speaks to demographics as well..increased populations in southern states..particularly texas and florida <astrodog> Darth: Absolutly. <hans_kung> yah true <Cathy344> hans_kung: And Indians. <sym`> DarthBurg's hair is an oilfield <hans_kung> New York state was the big item for candidates <sym`> ;p~ <sym`> But don't tell him! <JustHangi> Disbelief but it would have been foolish to ***ert, in 1999, that AMZN was being driven by a renaissance of reading in america <hans_kung> Cathy344, could they vote though? :P <DeDannan> hans_kung, yep..now its California <DarthBurg> astrodog ok. so if we open up two new refineries, it would not effect the price of crude. is that your story? <astrodog> Darth: A major refinery shortage, would actually depress the cost of crude oil. <sym`> Labstah! <Cathy344> hans_kung: Yep. With arrows. They were outvoted by bullets, though. <astrodog> Darth: It would probably increase it slightly, due to the increase in crude demand, and at the same time, lower the price of gas, and whatnot. <DarthBurg> astrodog now wait, you just said refineries do not effect drude, which is it? <DarthBurg> astrodog you can not have it both ways ya know, you can admit i was right now ya know <astrodog> Refineries are consumers of crude. if you add more, there's more demand for crude, and if anything, a higher price. <Disbelief> justhangi - i wouldn't ***ert that. its not even a valid comparison. a stock is not the same as a commodity. there is an empiracal upswing in oil demand and use. <DarthBurg> bingo <astrodog> You suggested that more refineries would REDUCE the price of crude. <astrodog> Which they would not. <DarthBurg> so refineries DO effect the price of crude, so there is hope for you <Disbelief> brb <DarthBurg> did I? <DarthBurg> I am sorry to have given that impression, basic econ 101 would say crude goes up as refinery's do <sym`> YOU DID! <DeDannan> why would oil co's want to build more refineries..they're making out like bandits as it is... <astrodog> Darth: Alright. Looks like we had some miscommunication there. Heh. <Lupine> astro: newer gen refineries actually can help decrease the cost. Why? The newer ones are able to effectively use "less sweet" crude for US air emissions stnadards <sym`> Yea, but liberals flunked ECO 101 <DarthBurg> DeDannan yes, why would they want to increase the supply <JustHangi> astrodog we dont see supply shortages anywhere in the world. Supply fears isnt driving this price. Just in time production does shift to, e.g., OPEC, a lot of leverage in terms of marginal prices per barrel....but much of it is just speculation <sym`> Whoops lag! my bad ;p <astrodog> Lup: It wouldn't drop the price of crude though, just the price of gas. <Lupine> astro: so, the shift between sweet and non sweet crude will probably lower the price on sweet a bit <DarthBurg> and refineries take union labor, thats pricey to <astrodog> Heh. <Lupine> astro: less demand for the most expensive sweet crude, and we can use more of "the cheap stuff" <sym`> Bio diesel can cut costs <sym`> In m*** transportation and shipping <astrodog> Lup: Sure, but you'd increase the price of the cheap stuff. Probably to the point that some places that used to use it, would use sweeter oil. It'd all balance out. <DarthBurg> thats the beauty of markets <DeDannan> JustHangi, probably 15% or so of the price of crude/bbl is speculation.. <DeDannan> maybe more... <JustHangi> DeDannan difference of opinion...thats what makes a market. place your bets <DarthBurg> *I* just happen to be of the mind more americans should be able to own oil wells, those royalty checks have been SMOKING <astrodog> Darth: They cost a few million to drill. <astrodog> Heh. <Glock21> bbl <JustHangi> astrodog so...who's the next nominee <DarthBurg> thanks to envirmometal religion <astrodog> Darth: Uh. <astrodog> No, they're just expensive as hell to drill. Environmental regs aside. <DeDannan> JustHangi, no thanks..I think that game is rigged :) <DarthBurg> cost effective <astrodog> Darth: Heh. <astrodog> One of the places I work for, recouped drilling cost on a new well in THREE goddamn months this year. <astrodog> Ususually it takes atleast a couple years. <astrodog> heh <JustHangi> ok you political geniuses. on what day will Miers withdraw her nomination. <astrodog> Just: Friday. <JustHangi> astrodog be safer...express that as a conditional <astrodog> strcmp(Myers->WithdrawlDate, "Friday"); <astrodog> ;) <JustHangi> lol...the answer is...on whatever day indictments are handed up <astrodog> Or, if you'd prefer. <Cathy344> JustHangi: The day after Hell freezes over. Won't help her, though, cause she won't be confirmed anyway. She'll be the Robert Bork fo the 21st century. <astrodog> strncmp(Myers->WithdrawlDate, "Friday", 6); <Swigert> hey <Cathy344> astrodog: Jokes don't generally go over very well when they're written in C. <astrodog> Cathy: They do pretty well on the BSD channels that way. <Swigert> I keep getting explorer.exe file error messages when I try to open my directories. What's the problem and how do I solve it? <Cathy344> That's them wacky BSD types, though. <Null_Ptr> astrodog shouldn't that be strcpy <JustHangi> astrodog more like...while (not indictment) loop; withdraw <astrodog> JustH: while ( !indictment ) { sleep(10); } withdraw(Myers); <Cathy344> while (Miers.credibility > 0) { for (media) vamp;} <astrodog> Heh. <astrodog> Hmm. <Null_Ptr> while (!indicted(rove) && !indicted(liddy)) { act(normal); } <astrodog> Oooh! I got one! <Swigert> I keep getting explorer.exe file error messages when I try to open my directories. What's the problem and how do I solve it? <Cathy344> Oh dear god. WHen will the insanity end? <Null_Ptr> Swigert your windows is fubar <Cathy344> Swigert: Install Nautilus. <Billy^> reboot <Null_Ptr> reformat <Billy^> Linux <Null_Ptr> in fact you should reformat daily <Cathy344> Nautilus being part of GNOME, you'll have to install GNOME first. <Null_Ptr> windows practically requires it <CryArvach> FIOS will be down in my neck of woods in 1 year or less <astrodog> int prosecutor( int numIndictments; giant_mutex(allPoliticalDiscourse); investigate(); numIndictments = investigateresults(); return numIndictments; } <Null_Ptr> CryArvach i shall have it before you do :P <Cathy344> Only way to permanently exorcise Windows from a hard drive is a 2000 degree blast furnace and a pint of goats blood, but the hard drive won't be of much use after you pour the goat's blood over it.
