<Robotsu> haha
<namo_> kaliuna, so you're opinion won't be in the mix in 50 years most likely?
<Kaliuna> MrR -- well that dem who had a statue built in his home town - statue of him - so ok only 25K -- but pretty obvious pork - that was in90s
<MrRod> |Glitch|: What is YOUR way?
<namo_> your
<Kaliuna> namo -- probably not
<khaladan> oh boy reps did something stupid but let's not go after them for it since that would be partisan!
<MrRod> Kaliuna: Talk about ego.
<khaladan> whine whine whine
<OcDoc> Katey: I think he said that one of the commentators made it up Oreilly or someone
<JanetB> what did the reps do?
<Kaliuna> namo - though never know - I have some rather good genealogy -- genes
<|Glitch|> OcDoc: No, Commander-In-Chief. :)
<sym`> khaladan: Nobody is saying that, only you
<bmc> libby lied to grand jury
<namo_> kaliuna, plus with the genome project...
<bmc> why did he lie to grand jury
<Katey> OcDoc, I can't figure out why "moonbat" has a connection to liberals or democrats though.
<JanetB> bmc.. thats yet to be proven
<Pugsley> bmc: no, that is what he is charged of doing.. hasn't been proven yet
<fafu> no law was broken. Plame was not undercover. she had a desk job at CIA. her neighbors knew about it. a dozen news organizations have filed amicus briefs arguing exactly that. my concern is that this partisan attempt to bash Bush is going to chill all future exposure of CIA political meddling - which is exactly what Plame and her husband were up to. It is they who should be investigated and run out of town.
<OcDoc> Glitch: you have to get elected to THAT post ... the other you can be appointed to
<Kaliuna> MrR -- uhuh and what were some of the others -- oh you remember that special highway - up in dakotas -- one very seldome even used?? that was quarter mill or more
<JanetB> got to have a trial first
<Twobar> Katey you are kidding
<khaladan> fafu haha which neighbors?
<Kaliuna> namo -- I am a baby boomer -- ok from 47
<OcDoc> Katey: bats in the belfry
<animus_> |Glitch|: All sounds good, so long there is the word cheif in there...
<Katey> Twobar, er...nope
<Pugsley> bmc: conflicting statements for instance, is not proof of a lie. could be a mistake of a poor memory
<JanetB> so again what did the reps do
<bmc> JanetB he said reporters told him about plame, his own documents show he learned about it from cheney
<Katey> OcDoc, well, that could be said about anyone though.
<OcDoc> animus: you mean like Chief sitting bull?
<bmc> he lied several times, the same lie
<Pugsley> bmc: well, that doesn't mean he lied.. he could have remembered it wrong..
<MrRod> Kaliuna: It's one thing for them to spend lots of money on something that's actually useful but when they spend billions on useless stuff I have to wonder what the point is.
<namo_> kaliuna, for instance, I thought we all had a pretty good common understanding of the Vietnam war, until this Bush administration came around and began 're-writing' history
<Kaliuna> bmc - well he might also have heard it from reporters as well --
<JanetB> bmc.. what did you say oct 28 2003 at 9:30 am and to who
<Pugsley> bmc: which is entirely possible..
<bmc> Pugsley then he should have said he doesnt remember, or hes not sure
<Robotsu> fafu: what does her undercover status mean?
<Pugsley> shrug
<bmc> he took an oath to tell the truth
<sym`> namo_: What does that mean?
<Pugsley> u can remember things wrong
<Kaliuna> namo -- how did they "re-write it"?
<Robotsu> fafu: if they have evidence of libbey lying nothing else matters
<JanetB> he said the "THOUGHT" he heard it from reporters
<bmc> and reitterated inaccurate information as fact
<^rcane> wtf kind of name is scooter for a grown man?
<bmc> thats lieing
<Pugsley> human brains are not perfect
<JanetB> note key word here THOUGHT
<Pugsley> no it's not
<MrRod> ^rcane: He must be from the South.
<Pugsley> it's remembering it wrong...
<Robotsu> they should just say, "well jee, we didn't originally -mean- to find this, we should just leave it alone" ?
<animus_> OcDoc: Somthing like that
<bmc> nonsense
<Pugsley> lying is knowing the truth and then saying the opposite
<bmc> hes not a mental patient
<Robotsu> that's absurd
<TheTailor> MrRod, isn't the point to develope the a rea?
<^rcane> Kaliuna: why would they even need a highway in the dakotas?
<sym`> Kaliuna: That is what I want to know too
<Pugsley> bmc: every human has imperfect memory
<Pugsley> bmc: some more imperfect than others
<Robotsu> "we were doing a routine traffic stop when we found drugs, but we didn't -mean- to find drugs, we should just let him go"
<Pugsley> :)
<fafu> people working desk jobs at CIA headquarters are not 'under cover'. The last time Plame was undercover was in 1997 - six years before the Novak story.
<Robotsu> anyone see a problem with that?
<sym`> Kaliuna: How they "re-wrote" history
<Robotsu> fafu: read the above
<Kaliuna> rcane -- good question - but it was built -- course that guy is no longer in congress - road is still there
<bmc> Pugsley you dont remember things that never happened
<namo_> kaliuna, the basic idea was: "We went into Vietnam for the wrong reasons, without a clear goal, we stayed too long and then we left. We should avoid this type of war in the future."
<OcDoc> Moonbat is a political epithet coined in 2002 by Perry de Havilland of "The Libertarian Samizdata," a libertarian weblog. It was originally a play on the last name of George Monbiot, a columnist for The Guardian, but now the term enjoys great currency in the conservative and libertarian blogosphere as an all-purpose insult for modern liberals
<Kaliuna> sym -- ya I'm still waiting on that one
<Pugsley> bmc: actually u can
<|Glitch|> MrRod: Bush did everything right, up to and including the ultimatium he gave to Pakistan. After that, I would've done it differently. I would've gone in with the 1st Marine Division, 3rd and 4th Army Infantry Divisions, and the 7th Calvary Division and taken Afghanistan. Then move northwest into Iran, then Iraq, and finally Syria. THEN I would've rebuilt those devasted nations and put anti-terrorist governments in power and left.
<bmc> and pigs can fly also
<MrRod> TheTailor: I'm not so sure about that.
<sym`> namo_: That does nothing to back your claim
<US-Male> who cares is "Scooter" is guilty or not ?
<US-Male> if
<khaladan> "What is so despicable about all of this is that the conservative movement is now serving as apologists for political operatives who have destroyed an intelligence network and at least one case officer's distinguished career. The new standard for the Republican National Committee--Karl Rove didn't commit a crime. Boy, there's a slogan to run on, 'At Least I Wasn't Indicted'."
<Pugsley> bmc: dude, go read up on human memory
<Robotsu> |Glitch|: that's one of the worst ideas i've ever read
<JanetB> hahahahhaa
<US-Male> I sure as **** don't care about some appointee. Let the court decide
<bmc> his burden
<Pugsley> bmc: the human brain can seriously **** up some memories
<Kaliuna> namo -- but we did go for wrong reason - and what you said doesn't rewrite it at all
<Twobar> anyone called "scooter" is guilty period.
<sym`> namo_: That is a spin answer to ... well, something but it sure isn't an answer for how they "re-wrote" history
<bmc> he shouldnt state things as fact that arent fact
<Robotsu> lol
<IamKing> Twobar: hahahah
<Pugsley> bmc: well he may believe they are fact
<Timur> Gitch: well said
<fafu> khaladan lifted that quote from wikipedia
<Twobar> dam right
<JanetB> oh man.. the woman worked at a desk get a clue
<namo_> sym, we are now being told that we could have won Vietnam, we lost because liberals were protesting, etc.
<OcDoc> scroooooollllll
<Pugsley> bmc: what about that.. if he believes they are fact and they are not. it's not a lie
<IamKing> "Scooter" was Big Gay Al's nick name
<^rcane> Robotsu: how did you find them then?
<sym`> namo_: Um, we only "lost" because we pulled out
<Kaliuna> namo -- we are being told that ==?? thing is we lost because we pulled out
<Pugsley> it's only a lie if he knows what he is saying is not true
<sym`> namo_: Towards the end we were *gaining* ground
<Twobar> sym forgot to pull out
<MrRod> |Glitch|: The problem is it hasn't been established governments attacking the US.
<Pugsley> and that is what has to be proven in a court of law etc etc
<Robotsu> ^rcane: hm? sorry I don't quite understand
<^rcane> Kaliuna: what did you expect them to do with the road?
<Kaliuna> namo - we lost because the idiots were trying to run the war from DC instead of letting generals on ground run it
<bmc> Pugsley i dont believe he remembered it that way, he was trying to get attention away, if he learned from the reporters nobody in the WH must have told the reporters
<sym`> namo_: What happen protest wise didn't help, thats true
<bmc> they reporters learned from him
<Kaliuna> rcane -- danged if I know -- I don't live there
<bmc> he learned from cheney
<|Glitch|> MrRod: In less than 6 months all the international terrorist sponsoring nations would've been wiped from the face the planet. Without those terrorist insurgents being funneled into Iraq from Iran and Syria, rebuilding would be a lot faster and safer.
<CometBaby> IamKing .. would you add my nick to your dang g thingie?
<Pugsley> bmc: well, that's just speculation on your part.. we'll get to see a whole lot more whne it goes to trial
<namo_> kaliuna, read the necon line, we pulled out because of protests and people like Jane Fonda
<sym`> namo_: I mean, seeing Fonda sitting on AntiAircraft guns chatting it up with the enemy didn't send a *great* picture to the GI's
<MrRod> |Glitch|: And for how long does the US hold on that big swath of land?
<namo_> sym, right, that's what I'm talking about
<sym`> namo_: Nor was the way vets were treated by some
<Kaliuna> namo -- who the heck are these NEOCONS?? and who said it was gop anyway?
<SweetLeaf> You gotta love Jane
<Kaliuna> sym - very true
<bmc> Pugsley if "remembering" he learned it from cheney would have been beneficial to them, thats how he would have remembered it
<SweetLeaf> she gave the list to the NVA too
<namo_> kaliuna, who ever is saying these things, neocons, fox news commentators, rush limbaugh
<sym`> namo_: You had vets hiding their uniform because they were scared to death they'd get jumped
<Robotsu> can't I not have approved the war and not be jane fonda? :(
<US-Male> oh ****, the market went up today
<IamKing> CometBaby: I have to do it each time I connect :P
<US-Male> hallelujah
<sym`> namo_: You had vets being spit on, called baby killers
<CometBaby> well, it's your call :)
<^rcane> |Glitch|: too bad you arn't president
<Pugsley> bmc: heh. yer such a cynic
<|Glitch|> MrRod: As long as it takes to put anti-terrorists governments into power. I don't care if it is another Islamic theocracy or if it is a dictatorship, as long as they are anti-terrorist. Then we leave and provide them support when they request it.
<sym`> namo_: That's not the way any country should treat their GI's
