<CometBaby> linus .. my scripts **** :(
<CometBaby> lol
<Linus-> scripts usually have bugs
<Linus-> i avoid them
<CometBaby> I'd like to see you run a channel w/o them :)
<Linus-> on efnet?
<Linus-> no thanks
<MissLaVey> surise was 7:55 this morning
<Linus-> where?
<MissLaVey> cleveland
<MissLaVey> sunset is at 6:26
<CometBaby> heh just talked to one of my best friends on the phone. she is dating a new guy.
<MissLaVey> neat.
<KoBushi> How new is he?
<KoBushi> like 18 new?
<Maryusme> bald and blind
<KoBushi> or just new to her?
<KoBushi> :P
<CometBaby> She is 40 and he is 50. She said he is really, really nice. Has a great personality and really interesting. He is the Admissions Director of a local college. The Problem: She said he doesn't look 50 .. he looks a lot older.
<CometBaby> she said it is hard to get past
<MissLaVey> as long as he has more hair on his head then he does the rest of his body, she is all set.
<Linus-> 7:30am here
<Linus-> wonder why so much difference?
<Maryusme> big eyebrows :p
<Linus-> that's 25 mins
<MissLaVey> where are you, Linus-?
<Linus-> sunset 6:13
<Linus-> norcal
<MissLaVey> well, i'm towards the west end of the timezone
<CometBaby> I told her a lot of that has to do with how she views herself. She doesn't see herself as 40. lol. She has dated a lot of younger guys so it's a culture shock for her when she actually dates her own age group
<Linus-> Sunset 5:11 p.m. tomorrow
<MissLaVey> share the same timezoe as NYC, which is 450 miles (by road) to the east
<Linus-> damn
<Linus-> ****
<Linus-> MissLaVey, ok i can see that
<Linus-> but I'm not on eastern edge of pacific time zone
<CometBaby> I admit she doesn't look 40 either.
<Linus-> i wonder how much variance there is between opposite edges of a zone?
<MissLaVey> i imagine about 45 mins
<MissLaVey> i'll check actually
<Linus-> it is intriguing to think that two towns next to one another but in different zones can have vastly different lifestyles due to hrs of daylight
<Linus-> if i worked in one town, and slept in the other, could i gain an hour of sleep? ;)
<MissLaVey> hah
<Linus-> lol
<KoBushi> anyone hear about the proposed changes to daylight savings time in 2007?
<Linus-> KoBushi, a little
<Linus-> they wanted to do it this year
<Linus-> originally
<KoBushi> They mentioned something about it on CNN the other morning but they didn't say anything about what the changes would be
<Linus-> i think it will extend it two months
<Linus-> maybe the compromise became one month though
<MissLaVey> KoBushi, it would be to extend the time until we fall back
<MissLaVey> i believe
<MissLaVey> it sounds like a fair idea
<MissLaVey> it WOULD help save energy, if you think about it
<Linus-> opponents contend it endangers children heading for school
<Linus-> of course it would, for retailers especially
<KoBushi> hum, I guess I forget how locked to a clock and calander most people are
<KoBushi> I'm on call 24/7, so that tends to warp your perspective of time
<MissLaVey> unfortunately, it doesnt help houses like mine
<Linus-> well, standard time is locked to farm era
<Linus-> why does arizona refuse to honor savings time?
<Linus-> that must really scrwe up airlines
<MissLaVey> maybe they arent as affected by the changes as other places, such as cleveland
<Linus-> oh well, everyone is a retirre there i guess :)
<Linus-> they like to go to bed early and eat dinner before 4pm
<Linus-> retiree
<Linus-> MissLaVey, btw, where ya been?
<MissLaVey> is that where people in cali retire to?
<Linus-> maybe our times here don't cross much
<MissLaVey> Linus-: lurking
<Linus-> some do
<Linus-> especially those with allergies
<MissLaVey> i've been hiding amongst the crowd for a couple months
<Linus-> lurking sounds evil doesnt it?
<MissLaVey> but i've also been busy with school
<Linus-> school?
<Linus-> college?
<MissLaVey> yup
<Linus-> cool
<MissLaVey> yeah
<Linus-> long papers to write or no?
<MissLaVey> gave up on the finance **** =\
<MissLaVey> nah, not yet
<Linus-> you won't be sorry
<MissLaVey> i know i wont
<Linus-> woeking with number crunching to balance someone else's wealth would tend to get dull over time
<MissLaVey> it was too competitive for me..
<MissLaVey> you needed eperience above all else
<Linus-> competitive?
<MissLaVey> and being a female under 20 really hurt
<KoBushi> http://www.ocolly.com/new_ocollycom/new_site/read_story.php?a_id=28356
<Linus-> oh, what finance ****?
<KoBushi> basically extending it by a week and starting it a few weeks earlier
<Linus-> i ***umed accounting i guess
<Linus-> KoBushi, starting it earlier?
<MissLaVey> i first started in insurance
<Linus-> that's lame!
<Linus-> extending it now is energy saving
<Linus-> not in early spring
<MissLaVey> none of the **** required schooling, and i was all about making quick money without school
<Linus-> MissLaVey, oic
<MissLaVey> but it's not fullfilling
<Linus-> selling insurance?
<KoBushi> As for claims of school children being endangered, I always got on the bus in the dark and it wasn't daylight until we got to the school (long bus route)
<Linus-> tjhats a dog eat dog world
<Linus-> KoBushi, its not my claim
<KoBushi> So, I don't see how one dark is different from an other
<MissLaVey> yeah, and i got reeled in by some real scumbags
<Linus-> but most schools here dropped their busses
<KoBushi> Linus- I didn't say it was your claim :P
<MissLaVey> the scum of the insurance world, primerica
<MissLaVey> brb
<KoBushi> How do the kids get there w/o buses?
<MissLaVey> they walk.
<Linus-> MissLaVey, i lived with a young guy, about 26, who was already a millionaire from selling policies
<MissLaVey> uphill, bothways
<MissLaVey> brb
<Linus-> he was such a well-dressed, nicely housed piece of ****
<Linus-> lived in his home i should clarify!
<Linus-> uphill both ways, ha!
<Linus-> in my day....
<Linus-> KoBushi, suvs
<Linus-> bikes
<KoBushi> That's some pretty harsh pedantry
<Linus-> a few walk if their parents srent paranoid about stranger abduiction
<Linus-> KoBushi, har
<Linus-> i didn't know Daylight was the subject of a sentence
<Nemes> buses should deffinitely be put on for the kids I think
<gopp> Linus- peace may be purchased at too high a price. -- Poor Richard
<gopp> dam liberals
<Linus-> what is he doing? Daylight? saving Time
<gopp> they don't want to defend america nor do those who are antiwar
<Linus-> gopp, you think elian will one day ruile cuba?
<Linus-> rule
<Nemes> todays world just isnt the same as 40 yrs ago or even 20 for that matter. Kids really are in danger from allsorts of scumbags including other kids these days.
<gopp> Linus- yes he may
<Linus-> ya gotta admit, the kid is as cute as a button
<gopp> Linus- he one of most well taken of in cuba
<gopp> cute
<KoBushi> Nemes sure, but... if you go to school when it's dark already, how does it being dark longer increase the danger? :P
<Linus-> he's got the looks part down
<KoBushi> also...
<Linus-> unlike castro ;)
<gopp> what cute have to do with leadership skill
<KoBushi> how does getting up and doing things IN THE DARK save energy?
<gopp> well unlike sure
<Linus-> good looks don't hurt politicians, lets put it that way
<gopp> good point
<Nemes> taking them to school on a bus that has another adult in there with them gives them less of an opportunity to skive of school, less of an opportunity to get bullied or be bullied outside mof school, and protects them from the other scumbags on the streets.
