<Bubba_gum> not for your arteries! ask any doctor <Katey> JanetB, by frying do you mean in a frying pan that's in the oven or literally frying it on top of the stove? <JanetB> who says you have to use saturated oil to fry? <hans_kung> lot of that can be genetic and not even related to food you consume. <Bubba_gum> our bodies are basically just meat and chemicals.. we need to treat the chemistry we put into them seriously <hans_kung> if the oil is liquid in room temperature it's not nearly as bad. <JanetB> katey on the stove <Bubba_gum> hans_kung: sure but why add to the likelihood of clogged arteries? <hans_kung> quality of life issue for some Bubba, they like the taste of fried foods. <Bubba_gum> that's like saying "i can smoke because i might have genetics that don't get me lung cancer" <Katey> Well, there are fats that reduce the liklihood of clogged arteries <JanetB> olive oil is great to fry things in <Bubba_gum> anyway, steam and bake where possible <hans_kung> and for some people, what they eat has NO bearing on the cholestrol issue. Some of it can be purely genetic. <Katey> Peanut oil is generally best for deep frying <Bubba_gum> hans: you're talking about a tiny few.. <Katey> higher smoke point <hans_kung> My aunt was slender, and was on all the meds for cholestrol. None of it helped. <JanetB> katey, yes <Bubba_gum> hans: and the exceptions PROVE there's a rule <Bubba_gum> or they wouldn't be exceptions <hans_kung> Bubba, I know, I'm just saying why some don't care. <Bubba_gum> i hear ya.. <JanetB> my cholestrol levels are great my doctor said, hubby and I eat the same things and he has high cholestrol <Katey> Avoid using animal fats for cooking <Bubba_gum> clearly most of america doesn't care, given the overweight statistics <JanetB> my son have low levels of the good cholestrol and good levels for the bad <JanetB> go figure <Katey> eat plenty of variety in your diet <Katey> lean meats <Katey> whole grains <Katey> yadda, yadda, yadda <Bubba_gum> steamed chicken with steamed broccoli is what i'm having for dinner <Katey> Bubba_gum, they care, but people still tend to eat to entertain themselves <JanetB> I perfere mixed chocolates in my diet :D <Katey> And convencience foods are generally a nutritional trainwreck <hans_kung> I'm lucky, not a picky food person. Love fish, turkey, chicken, baked stuff. <Katey> steamed chicken? <Katey> bleh <JanetB> I hate fish!! but I eat it <hans_kung> love seafood, but no sushi for me. *hurl* <Katey> I love fish <Bubba_gum> katey: well, baked then steamed <Bubba_gum> so its not so dry <JanetB> I will only eat baked chicken or fried chicken <hans_kung> Katey, ever been to Captn Georges in Tidewater? <Katey> baked then steamed? <JanetB> or roasted <Bubba_gum> fried chicken = poison <hans_kung> there is one in Williamsburg <Katey> that sounds pretty odd <JanetB> not steamed yuck <hans_kung> another in Hampton, and Norfolk, and Va Beach <JanetB> ok bye <Bubba_gum> keep that fried chicken outta your arteries, janet <Bubba_gum> go with god <hans_kung> lol <Bubba_gum> if we ask ourselves "okay, now what would Jesus do?" he wouldn't eat no fried chicken <Katey> lol <Bubba_gum> he'd probably take the skin off <hans_kung> Chicken is kosher, right? <US-Male> CHESTERFIELD, Va. (AP) - Prison is a refuge for about two dozen cats displaced by Hurricane Katrina, a place filled with women happy to be able to soothe away their trauma and fear. <hans_kung> Or can be? <hans_kung> That's not far from Katey! <US-Male> There's an obvious joke somewhere for that story <hans_kung> That's outside Richmond. <Bubba_gum> hans; i have no idea what's kosher and what isn't.. the whole thing is a bit odd since its still the practice of a tradition based on pre-refrigeration times <Bubba_gum> "well we'll still act like we have no refrigeration because that's out tradition" <US-Male> cats for inmates... hmm <US-Male> maybe it will be good for them <Katey> hans_kung, hehe <Katey> yep <Bubba_gum> until they stop cleaning the litter boxes <tnzr> I think a good product would be "Baby Duck Hat". It's a fake baby duck, which you strap on top of your head. Then you go swimming underwater until you find a mommy duck and her babies, and you join them. Then, all of a sudden, you stand up out of the water and roar like Godzilla. Man, those ducks really take off! Also, Baby Duck Hat is good for parties. <Bubba_gum> two dozen cats, no litter box = you do the math <hans_kung> big p.u. <US-Male> the guards would take away their privileges if they do't clean the litter boxes <Bubba_gum> my girlfriend had me watch her 3 cats for a weekend.. jesus they are $hit-factories <Katey> US-Male, there are youth offender programs that are basically farms <hans_kung> they have toilet training kits for kats <Katey> And my state has a prison farm that's an actual farm <US-Male> yeah I've heard of that I think <Katey> taking care of animals, etc <hans_kung> but I don't want a cat on the same spot where I park my horse's rosette <Bubba_gum> Cats take food from a can, process it internally, and turn it into discharge and that's their whole mission. <Katey> They raise food that is used in the state prison system, I think. <US-Male> I hope they're eating it and not us <hans_kung> lol <Bubba_gum> hopefully there aren't any korean inmates over there.. otherwise, watch out kitties <US-Male> dunno if I trust them not to inject urine into the carrots <hans_kung> buddy of mine worked for the Va Prison system, they are way strict on those guys. <Katey> lol <Katey> The state prison farm in Goochland Co. is really rather scenic <US-Male> FRED <Katey> I drove back and forth through it a lot this summer, to and from my crazy uncle's house <hans_kung> yah beautiful area <hans_kung> I miss it <Tailor> I always liked Fred :-) <US-Male> hehehe <Tailor> Funny name :-) <US-Male> Fred Flintstone <Tailor> That's what I think of, heh <US-Male> if you name is Fred you might as well be Freddy <US-Male> is it short for Alfred? <Bubba_gum> what about Frederick? <US-Male> what's the deal with that <US-Male> yeah Frederick you're right <US-Male> I think I'd go by Rick <Hangfire> US-Male you know what's ****ing spooky? <Bubba_gum> or also The Starfleet Frederation <Hangfire> someone I've spoken to for a year or more on irc <US-Male> what <Hangfire> could actually be a long lost relative <Hangfire> rough matching on our details makes a fairly good approximation <US-Male> damn that is spooky <Hangfire> you're telling me? <Hangfire> wait <Hangfire> we're almost exactly the same age <US-Male> I met someone here that knows a guy I went to elementary school with <Hangfire> and almost EXACTLY the same career and life profiles <Hangfire> that's SPOOOOKY <US-Male> yeah it is <P5YCH0> was his name rosemary <US-Male> I think there are some genetic predispositions to careers, for some families <Bubba_gum> .. and the same desire to waste time on IRC .. that's spooky too <P5YCH0> its not spooky its called america <P5YCH0> thats spooky <P5YCH0> >;\ <Hangfire> P5YCH0 I'm not american <P5YCH0> i didnt call u american <P5YCH0> but thx for sharing <TimothyW> Silly Goose Your a Chicken. <P5YCH0> your a turkey <Bubba_gum> duck! <MissLaVey> you're* <P5YCH0> its novemeber <P5YCH0> get in the oven <hans_kung> snowing in Boston today <hans_kung> big time <TimothyW> MissLaVey : no.
