<rond> we play football !!!!! <rond> and Golf !!! <Emil^> rond - youu dont get it......... <rond> :) <Emil^> when the u.s. beats a european team - this is a slap in the face or europe <rond> I know <Emil^> we dont make it news <Emil^> europe will <Emil^> we got to the final 8 last round <rond> I don't care about slapping the euroes in the face myself, I like doing the things we do <Emil^> rond same here <bmc> i watched umd get their ***ed handed to them last night <rond> I do like the Tour De Lance though <Lotec> Emil, it's a slap to them everytime we laugh at em for calling it "football" <bmc> ****ing idiots were up by a td <bmc> get behind by 1 point <Emil^> i just want to see american soccer shine <bmc> 7 mins on the clock <rond> now that was good and good for a long time <bmc> and this idiot coach has them throw the ball <bmc> interception, another score <bmc> down by 8 <bmc> that coach should be fired <Emil^> wait till 2006......if the u.s. shows you' see what i'm talking about <bmc> 7 mins on the clock down by 1 <bmc> why would you throw the ball? <bmc> you have 7 mins to run down the clock and get in FG range <rond> I am sure if the US does good in international soccer what your saying is true <Emil^> rond - despite we were in the top 8 last round - the world wants to piss on us <rond> they always do <bmc> college football is almost funner to watch then NFL <Emil^> rond - we can shut them up tho :) <bmc> dont have any famous players but they make good plays and usually take chances <rond> did you hear lances victory interview this year <Emil^> rond - portugal was like #5 in the world - we were beating them 3-0 in korea - i was so proud ot here the americans beging the 'overated' chant <rond> he alluded to how difficult it was for him to live in europe 6 months of the year <rond> said he was partially quiting to just not have to do that <bmc> the tour de lance <Emil^> i love seeing americans respresent <inert> he should threaten to come out of retirement. <bmc> the french would boycott <Emil^> i may not care about biking - but i love lance! <Emil^> he makes me want to care about militant cyclist type people <inert> i'm a cyclist. he's ok. <Emil^> inert - before lance i would have said - ohh so inert's a cyclists............ <Emil^> thank to lance, this is no different <rond> what is militant about cyclist ? <rond> never heard that ***ociation <Emil^> lemme clarify i used to not give a **** about marathons or cycling <inert> there's a subculture of cyclists that hate cars and stuff <Emil^> but thanks to armnstrong - i do care now <Emil^> right now teh american public doesnt' eiether know or care about us soccer <bmc> maybe extreme mountain bikers could be labeled militant <rond> Inert I have done 4 centuries, several single engine/fly/ride trips <rond> I never met militant cyclist <Emil^> but when we show - and world can't wait to piss on us - we'll all are <Emil^> care** <inert> rond: they are out there... <Emil^> americans dont' realize the shame that goes with being defeted by americans in soccer <Emil^> when the AMERICAN soccer team beats you........your country scorns you <rond> I guess inert I suspect there all less than 25 ? <inert> rond: you've heard of critical m***, eh? <Emil^> it doesnt' matter we're ranked now 7th in the world (and i think this is wrong) <rond> no <Emil^> if the u.s. defeats you - you're shamed <rond> but I have been out of cycling a few years <rond> I have a santana racing tandem <inert> critical m*** cycling <-- put that into google <Emil^> when the day comes an american champions the tour de france i'll care again <rond> I see they sound like Peta <inert> you've determined that in like 10 seconds :) <bmc> cycling enviro-whackos? <inert> but i guess they have similarities <rond> yeah its an easy ***ociation <Emil^> jebus chill - what's wrong with giving props to lance? <Emil^> let keep **** in check <rond> in my opinion cars and bikes have to co-exist and the local govts need to do more to support that <rond> to try to get rid of cars is really swiming upstream <rond> Peta <Emil^> rond - that is like saying 'in my opnion air is a good thing to breate' <inert> yeah, it will never happen. <inert> i think most of the activists understand that <rond> I hope so <bmc> why not push for something more realistic <inert> and push more for equality of bikes & cars <rond> because there does need to be an organized push for more bike access but to add the element of getting rid of cars just ruins that effort <bmc> like clean alternative fuels <Emil^> i like what my community has been doing - we've converted old railraod tracks to public walkways <bmc> push for more people to use public transit <bmc> move more **** on trains <inert> Emil^, that is happening here too. it is a nice project <rond> Fort worth has miles of bike trails and is extending towards Dallas with the goal of being able to reach dallas by bike trails <bmc> why not renovate them? <Emil^> inert - it all depends on your region - here it makes perfect sense <bmc> and run trains on them <rond> its murder otherwise...I have done it <rond> 80 miles round trip <Emil^> inert - i love having all these bike trails..... <inert> me too, although the city seems to have stalled on them here. <bmc> could probably take 10 18-wheelers off the road for every train you used <inert> still need the trucks for the last mile <alh> a lot of work on alternative fuel in sweden now.. People rebuild their cars to run on ethanol.. It is a fairly simple procedure that works on most normal cars I hear... <bmc> or they would just use them to move something else increasing profit even more :P <Lotec> http://multimedia.honda-eu.com/newcars/300k_player.swf <bmc> yes local runs <bmc> but they would be doing that anyways <bmc> so its not adding anything <bmc> they have to move **** to the trains also <bmc> so as theyre brining a load <bmc> they can pick up one on the way out <inert> i think a lot of the abandoned tracks are abandoned because they were inefficient anyway <inert> maybe more efficient routes were created <bmc> its not more efficient anymore though <bmc> look at traffic <bmc> look at fuel costs <Emil^> inert - times chance interubrans used to be the most efficent means to move people <bmc> trains are the answer <Emil^> trains wont work in the u.s. ....i mena look at amtrack and the last 100 years <Emil^> we are a large country <bmc> not as people movers <bmc> as material movers <Emil^> sadly i dont see any answer <Emil^> rail is dead in the u.s........ <Emil^> air is too expensive <bmc> i dont think so <Lotec> Things like coal still need to be moved by rail <bmc> as things become more populated, more crowded, more traffic <bmc> we will have to make more use of trains <bmc> why not be prepared for that day? <Emil^> i'm all for ya <bmc> or build a ****load more highways <Emil^> the us alone has 40% of global coal reserves <bmc> we dont need all that highway <Emil^> but that doesn't matter <bmc> start stacking highways <Emil^> 51% of us power comes from coal <bmc> instead of paving more land <Emil^> the day when people care more about electricity or keeping food frozen or ice cold this may change <Emil^> illiniois, kentucky, indiana, ohio - ENDLESS coal reserves..but ......... to much sulfer so we cant use those rescources <Emil^> coal is great if it comes from the east - it's cleaner burning - people dont ***** so much <bmc> coal, been there done that <bmc> we need new energy sources <bmc> not in 20 yrs <Emil^> we have enouch coal in the midwest alone to power the u.s. for centuries - no **** <bmc> now <inert> ahh cspan... <Emil^> but liek all americans we'd rather go poor than use coal which 'pollutes' i mean no other coal does right? <bmc> coal is a limited resource also <Emil^> bmc - yeah and the u.s. has 40% of the world known reserves
