<zid_> no
<joseuk> peterlee?
<joseuk> peter sutcliffe?
<joseuk> local joke...
<zid_> This is the linux box, hi
<joseuk> great zid_ im realy happy you can connect to irc from the linux box...
<zid_> :)
<zid_> I am
<CyberGeek> :-))
<joseuk> how the **** is that helping us fix your problem on port 4000?
<zid_> err
<zid_> the windows box got kicked out of the chan
<zid_> and you said forget the windows box
<zid_> it's hard to forget the windows box AND stay on irc
<joseuk> you need a girlfriend.
<joseuk> or a boyfriend..
<Perfekt> don't look at me
<zid_> you need to contradict yourself less
<joseuk> something to stop you using computers
<zid_> but they love me
<zid_> ..and I love them! <3
<joseuk> <3.142
<zid_> 3.14159265358979323846264
<joseuk> btw if u are doing telnet 127.0.0.1 4000 and you get a reply, test the eth0 address
<joseuk> not the lo..
<joseuk> iptables/whatever might be stopping the incoming 4000 on eth0....
<zid_> I have no iptables :p
<zid_> but yes
<joseuk> ipchains?
<zid_> you're right
<zid_> lo works, eth0 doesn't
<joseuk> yes
<joseuk> so its the firewall settings on your linux box isn't it...
<joseuk> #linuxhelp :) be gone
<zid_> it doesn't have one
<zid_> :P
<joseuk> ok tell the service to listen on the eth0 address
<joseuk> .conf of the service..
<zid_> it's not a service
<zid_> it's a gateway/mask problem methinks
<joseuk> no
<joseuk> its not
<joseuk> a gateway/mask problem.
<joseuk> man you need guidance :P try alcohol
<zid_> I have no firewall.
<zid_> what else could it be
<zid_> 192.168.0.2 is obviously routing wrong
<zid_> ahaha
<zid_> I bet it's trying to connect to the windows box
<zid_> GATEWAY[0]="192.168.0.1"
<zid_> that
<joseuk> for it to be a routing issue.. it would need to go through the default gateway.. unless of course its a local routing issue, i wouldnt call that routing though.... mebbe it is, thats a whole other argument
<joseuk> only if your tryin to connect to an IP OUT of the local subnet will it try use default gateway
<zid-> kk
<MadDwarf> exactly WHAT kind of setup are you TRYING to use? for both these systems to go online?
<zid-> tcp/cp
<magikman> :)
<MadDwarf> moronic answer OF course
<zid-> carrier pigeons pwn you
<MadDwarf> no router?... so what ARE you using.
<zid-> a crossover cable
<zid-> duh :P
<joseuk> hes using ICS
<MadDwarf> ICS off your windows box?
<zid-> I wish I had some friends that were good at this ****e who were acctualy fscking online
<MadDwarf> you obviously have both systems online since there are clones in channel
<Ta1oN> he has, yeah
<Ta1oN> i helped him set up ics on the windows box, and setting up the linux box to use the nat of the win box to get on the net
<zid-> but the windows one can't connect to the linux one, herelies the problem
<Ta1oN> so this part is working already
<zid-> and the linux one can barely connect to itself though :P
<Ta1oN> now he wants to connect to his linux box on tcp 4000 and can't
<Ta1oN> and no matter how many times we tell him, he wants to believe the error is on the win-side instead fo the linux side
<zid-> no it's not
<MadDwarf> so boot both his ***es and be done with it :)
<zid-> I found out it was the linux box 9 minutes ago
<zid-> you damn nazi Ta1oN
<MadDwarf> he can call his so called friends and have them come over and personally ***** slap him
<Ta1oN> oh, first i help you, didn't get any thanks yet, and now i'm a nazi? O.o
<Ta1oN> what shat you in your head?
<zid-> I thanked you in my own special way
<zid-> a badger
<drdavidge> can anyone reccomend a set of computer speakers under 50 bucks? the ones i have now are awesome but the sub sounds like ***
<CJDeak> No.,
<zid_> just buy a 50$ sub :P
<burntman> newegg.com
<CJDeak> Go out and lay down about 100-150 bucks.
<burntman> prolly has something
<MadDwarf> do your own shopping, it requires READING reviews and making a decision
<drdavidge> well i have like a 800$ surround system for my tv here and i connect the computer to it.. but just wanted something cleaner sounding for just the computer
<zid_> ok now wtf
<MadDwarf> so ****ing what
<zid_> my linux box just changed IPs
<zid_> it works now though :p
<drdavidge> sorry to have upset you mr king of all dwarves
<CJDeak> Hey, drdavidge
<drdavidge> whats up
<Badhmash> anytone here know how to make a credit card account show up as a liabilty in the red instead of an ***ett?
<zid_> whee
<zid_> linux box fixed itself
<zid_> now it's back to being windows' problem
<CJDeak> drd: Let me find my speakers on Newegg, they're really good
<CJDeak> Haha you lucky prick drd: they're on sale
<CJDeak> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121123
<CJDeak> for a double-digit price tag they're amazing
<drdavidge> cjdeak: thanks a lot... ill check them out
<CJDeak> I can pump them full blast and my door rattles, about 10 feet away
<drdavidge> wow i was just lookjing at reviews and the 220 ones were ones i was looking at
<drdavidge> and you sent me the 230.. haha i guess they are pretty good then
<CJDeak> They are.
<CJDeak> I love mine.
<drdavidge> only 30 bucks? holy ****
<CJDeak> Yeah,
<CJDeak> i got mine for 59 at best buy.
<drdavidge> 5/5 with 86 reviews
<CJDeak> There's only one downfall
<CJDeak> the subwoofer doesn't directly connect to the sound card, the speakers use a DB9 cable to connect to the sub, and the speakers them selves connect to PC
<CJDeak> so instead of being PC->Speakers PC-> Subwoofer, it's PC->Speakers->Subwoofere
<CJDeak> Subwoofer*
<kyat> Ta1oN, sorry. but i have to ask one more time. is there an alternative to shared toolkit ?
<CJDeak> Great quality for so small, and really loud.
<Ta1oN> yes, local policies :>
<Ta1oN> start->run->gpedit.msc
<Ta1oN> but i already told you that too
<drdavidge> cjdeak: that shouldnt really matter too much though right?
<kyat> yeh
<kyat> i got lost w/ that
<Ta1oN> under user configuration->administrative templates->desktop
<Ta1oN> you could just select there to not safe desktop settings on logoff
<Ta1oN> this would still allow chaging of settings, but will revert to your default after a reboot
<CJDeak> drd: It doesn't.
<kyat> k
<kyat> thanks
<kyat> let me try
<kyat> brb
<drdavidge> cjdeak: thanks a lot for the suggestion
<CJDeak> No problem.
<CJDeak> I love logitech, I've got two mouse, speakers, a keyboard and a webcam from them
<drdavidge> haha i rock the microsoft intellimouse optical.. side buttons are pimp i use it for copy and paste
<CJDeak> I've got a Logitech MarbleMouse and a MM Wheel
<drdavidge> CJDeak: hows the sub at loud volumes?
<CJDeak> amazing
<CJDeak> I've got it pumping out right now
<CJDeak> Rammstein - Keine Lust
<drdavidge> CJDeak: http://www.provantage.com/buy-7lgts00p-x-230-2-1-speaker-system-3pc-32watts-w-color-coded-cables-logitech-speakers-970123-0403-shopping.htm comes to 32 shipped for me.. (newegg charges tax for me in jersey)
