<shastry> sgmihai: use amarok
<stonecrest> shastry: i said "better"
<sgmihai> shastry: it too crashes
<shastry> :o
<sgmihai> and is awfully slow
<shastry> something is wrong with your system
<sgmihai> i think i might have like 10 corrupted files there
<sgmihai> and it doesn't handle them well
<STiAT> i'm using amaroK as well. runs quite fine though
<sgmihai> well it's slow
<STiAT> sgmihai: which version of wxmusic? the one in aur?
<Theoden> Streamtuner
<sgmihai> STiAT: yep
<sgmihai> STiAT: what should i do ?
<STiAT> ugly package this wxmusik
<shastry> awww power down
<priyank> shastry: o.O
<sgmihai> STiAT: : ? :0
<phrakture> Q: Why do programmers confuse Halloween and Christmas?
<filleokus> any swede that can translate some words for me?
<phrakture> A: Because OCT 31 == DEC 25.
<STiAT> :p
<phrakture> (that's from judd's blog, lol)
<STiAT> good one though
<ezech> :)
<Theoden> phrakture: What was the elephant doing in the freeway fastlane?
<Theoden> phrakture: About 5 miles an hour.
<STiAT> sgmihai: seems as if it's well known. wait for an update. Also i have to say i don't like the build for musik in aur.
<STiAT> sgmihai: seems not to be an arch problem though
<sgmihai> STiAT: damn, what should i use until then ?
<STiAT> sgmihai: whatever you like
<sgmihai> i like wxmusik
<STiAT> sgmihai: i won't start a war here now what's best, better or worse something else. Everyone decides himself, what he wants to use.
<sgmihai> STiAT: why does it have to be a war ?
<STiAT> Actually, it's nothing wrong with wxmusic, except that it seems as if it's still quite buggy. They'll be more stable within the next releases, and there are a couple of programs you can use meanwhile
<STiAT> what do you think when i tell you now what i'd use instead what someone else would say ;)
<sgmihai> does it matter?
<STiAT> well, what you use as usual always depends on your personal needs
<phrakture> Theoden: Two muffins were baking in an oven. One said: It's getting quite hot in here. The other replied: Aaaaagh! A talking muffin!
<lowercase> hey, someone got a piece of code for me? i want to md5sum two dirs recursively and compare them, to see if anything differs
<paniq> everyone who's up for sasl/tls/mysql support in the postfix/cyrus-sasl packages, word up: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/1741
<shastry> lowercase: do the dirs have binary files or only text files ?
<lowercase> shastry: both
<shastry> lowercase: hmm.. if it was just text.. you could have used diff
<lowercase> shastry: yes, i thought of that... well, i think i'll just write a small script
<shastry> lowercase: how will you detect if any new files are created ?
<lowercase> shastry: well, the thing is... xfs ****ed my /home, so i checked the fs, copied everything on another partition, then i did a mkfs.ext3 -foo -bar and copied the **** back... i just want to make sure everything is there, before i delete the backup
<shastry> oooh..
<lowercase> i just did a cp -Rvxp
<lowercase> i know, i'm PARANOID
<shastry> use find and count filenames.. if it varies. diff the output of the find
<shastry> so that yu will know what files are missing
<lowercase> i mean, i still have a backup on my usb stick... but it is more than 3 days old :/
<shastry> find /mnt/****up > xfs
<shastry> find /home > ext3
<shastry> diff xfs and ext3
<lowercase> shastry: man, that's a good idea. i'll do that. thanks :)
<shastry> err sort of like that
<shastry> :)
<shastry> u better be in the directories i mean instead of doing find /path.. go into path and do find .
<phrakture> even better would be to md5sum each file too, but I think there's issues with different FS's and all...
<linuX|Joeman1> :-P
<postlogic> I'm off.
<postlogic> Cya.
<postlogic> *poof*
<paniq> http://blog.paniq.org/?p=25

<stonecrest> it's a game, the sound probably ****s anyway.
<nut543> howkey! i just like stuff working like it's supposed to

<sgmihai> can someone spoonfeed me a cron command ?
<sgmihai> i want to ifconfig eth0 down at 3am
<ezech> sgmihai: man crontab has some examples
<sgmihai> they're no help
<ezech> then I can't help you, since all I know about crontab is from it's man page
<nut543> that was kind of arrogant :P
<ezech> well, it was true :/
<nut543> that too, one need to learn to read manpages in linux
<ezech> crontab manpage is one of the most informative actualy
<sgmihai> well i don't have time to learn cron right now
<sgmihai> it takes time
<sgmihai> i want to go to bed
<ezech> sgmihai: use at
<ezech> it's much simpler
<stonecrest> it takes time to wait for people to answer your question
<stonecrest> too
<ezech> works like: $>at 3:01
<ezech> then you specify command to execute at this time
<ezech> then ctrl+d
<sgmihai> ezech: how can i remove jobs ?
