<LokeDK> ezech, okay.. it's just ubuntu didn't work with my audigy 2 card.. so i had to compile the alsa driver my self
<ezech> LokeDK: alsa is not related to distro, but to kernel
<ezech> and every kernel since 2.4 has support for emu10k1 sound with oss and alsa
<LokeDK> oh okay.. then the alsa package wasn't compiled with the emu10k1 drivers or something?
<ezech> I dunno, I always compile my own kernel, and check alsa support for my card
<LokeDK> oh okay.. but I don't mind compiling it myself again if nessacary
<ezech> anyways, with emu10k1 you will have sound in linux without problems
<LokeDK> yeah
<Maveric-i686-> damnit when the hell is nvidia going to release the damn drivers
<dadexter> right after ATI releases good drivers

<kensai> ohh yeah tux race I shall install it too and eternal lands
<LokeDK> I have a friend of mine who installed archlinux on his P4 laptop.. but it froze at boot.. after detecting CPU version
