<froz> pity...
<tokai|noir> Nolar, why it was removed? IMHO it was a very useful feature, e.g. for multiple file torrents shortly before dying (disappearing seeders), so it was possible to catch at least a few valid files and not ending up with only trash :)
<Nolar> it was removed because it is bad for the swarm dynamics
<Nolar> it breaks the random/rarest-first ruleset
<tokai|noir> ic, but maybe it could be reintegrated with a limitation to 'dying' torrents where it could be useful?
<Nolar> probbaly not. if you want a specific file, then use the priority mechanism
<Nolar> (which will improve considerably this beta cycle)
<tokai|noir> thats what i would do now with such torrent, but it needs manual work each time :)
<tokai|noir> <- lazy :)
<The_8472> tokai|noir, if you want to prevent a torrent from dying... provide more bandwidth to it since it'll make it more likely that the other peers have pieces that you have and thus they'll pick pieces that you don't have... on the long shot
<charnobo> why is commits going so slow
<The_8472> the devs are spending the money they steal from our bank-accounts with the Azureus(tm) spyware?
<The_8472> j/k
<charnobo> I dread the day mac gets spyware
<The_8472> it's too unpopular for that to happen :P
<charnobo> yep
<charnobo> good for me
<Gudy> we're working on the SMS thing, we're moving stuff arround to new servers, this kind of things
<Gudy> (everyone who registers in the next 10 minutes on the SMS thing, will get 10 SMS for free :p)
<Woce> SMS thing? the one we had a poll about? :o
<The_8472> ....
<Gudy> beta testing starts on dec 1st
<Gudy> (but well, I'm open to alpha testers :p)
<Woce> ;o
<The_8472> good that i don't have a mobile...
<The_8472> and... would that stuff work internationally?
<Gudy> sure, where are you in?
<The_8472> germany
<Gudy> it works
<Woce> finland? =)
<Gudy> Woce : if you're willing to test, I can add Finland to the DB
<The_8472> interesting.... weird, but interesting
<Woce> umm umm... no thanks, at least not yet :p
<Gudy> Alands Mobiltelefon A.B , Elisa (Radiolinja) , Sonera , Suomen 2G Oy and Telia Mobile AB are the networks we support in Finland ...
<Gudy> The_8472 : that will come next :p
<The_8472> ok, that's rather useless now that most java mobiles support full web browser
<Gudy> Woce : is yours part of it?
<Woce> yup
<Gudy> then let me add Finland
<The_8472> Gudy and what about err... "real" features?
<Gudy> how are phone number formated in Finland ?
<Gudy> The_8472 : I need money to hire developers in order to get real features ...
<Woce> umm... well... +358 is the country code in the beginning
<Gudy> so, I need stupid useless features to hire them
<Gudy> Woce : so far I knew :p
<Woce> ;D
<Gudy> it's more about how you arrange the numbers after
<Gudy> it's only for display purposes
<The_8472> Gudy, ok... business issues, i understand that even if i don't like it
<Woce> and inside Finland you can use numbers like 050 1234567 -> from outside: +358 50 1234567
<Gudy> ok
<Woce> 050, 040, 020... operator numbers
<Woce> as you already guessed
<Gudy> only 7 numbers after ?
<Woce> typically, yes. as far as I know :p
<charnobo> why not paid support ?
<Bananeweizen> hi all, short question: do you also have problems accessing Sourceforge.net?
<The_8472> sf is fine
<Bananeweizen> I can't get to the azureus project page
<Bananeweizen> only the homepage of SF works for me
<The_8472> http://sourceforge.net/projects/azureus/
<Bananeweizen> ok, I think I found the problem
<Bananeweizen> it's not accessible via https
<Bananeweizen> only via http
<Bananeweizen> but on the SF main page and the stats it is linked as https (at least for logged in SF users)
<The_8472> https works too
<The_8472> it's slow, but it works
<Bananeweizen> um, then I should restart all my local equipment...
<Bananeweizen> see you in a minute :)
<Bananeweizen> The_8472, thanks. looks like my router was the source of all trouble.
<Gouss> routers usually are
<Bananeweizen> mine has an embedded linux too :(
<Bananeweizen> sometimes it get's a bit confused after several days of heavy Azureus traffic ;)
<mort> old pc + *nix iso = cheaper and better
<Bananeweizen> probably yes. but for me that would be much more time consuming :)
<msdossys> do we have an errata list for 2.3.0.6 yet?
<msdossys> cause every torrent that downloads is missing pieces even tho AZ says its done. Even after the Recheck once its done downloading... ill do force recheck on it again and it will find missing pieces
<msdossys> 'tis quite annoying :)
<mort> actually you are the first one i see mentioning that
<Nolar> odd. same piece or different ones?
<msdossys> different ones
<msdossys> 3 seperate torrents now
<msdossys> the torrents came with sfv files, which I used after WinRAR said there was a corrupt rar... sure enough there was... loaded it back up into AZ and it found 8 or so missing pieces so it redownloaded those and then everthing is dandy
<msdossys> i turned off the recheck pieces after download is done... well see if that fixes it...
<Sjdoughboy> hello all
<Sjdoughboy> any one around?
<Sjdoughboy> sorry about that

<Sjdoughboy> hi toomuch time
<TooMuchTime> Hello
<Sjdoughboy> it seem sorta slow in here
<Sjdoughboy> no ones chating
<Sjdoughboy> it might be because i'm new to the channal
<TooMuchTime> I'm not sure I expect a lot of chatting on this channel.
<Sjdoughboy> do you know much about azureus?
<Sjdoughboy> was look up FAQ but the site been down
<TooMuchTime> I'm a tracker author. I know more about how Az interacts with trackers than anything else about it.
<Sjdoughboy> lol
<Sjdoughboy> may i ask one sma question
<TooMuchTime> ?
<TooMuchTime> ask whatever you like
<Sjdoughboy> if i'm not downloading anything what does the download allway show i am?
<Sjdoughboy> just started using azureus tonight
<Sjdoughboy> tring a new clent
<TooMuchTime> If I'm not downloading, Azureus doesn't show that I am.
<TooMuchTime> Are you a seeder or a leecher at the moment?
<Sjdoughboy> on the botton line next too the upload
<Sjdoughboy> yes hand full of seeds
<mort\> overhead traffic, but your question is more suited for #azureus-users
<Sjdoughboy> hi mort\
<Sjdoughboy> like i mention would look in FAQ but site is moveing to new server
<Sjdoughboy> am i in the wrong channel?
<TooMuchTime> Sounds like, yes.
<Sjdoughboy> oh ic
<Sjdoughboy> i will jumpin that one
<Sjdoughboy> thank you for you time
<Sjdoughboy> :)
<hd420> why does azureus seem to put bandwidth caps on my torrents?
<Gouss> hd420 - how so?
<bebeastie> hello is anyone here a member of the azureus development team? I have some questions about how to use the upnp implementation in a program I am working on...
<veix> hello, can someone help me on a weird problem, i didnt kinda get the full answer from wiki
<veix> ppl at az users suggested i should come here
<veix> <veix> i have a problem, the wiki says to set VM size lower than 127 mb i have to type -Xmx somewhere, but i dont know where
<veix> which console or where do i have to type it
<veix> my azureus console is empty and i cant type anything in there
<veix> ah too bad, everyone is asleep, well i have time, ill leave my pc on and go to sleep, if someone has any ideas, just hope they help
<mort> at the end of the commandline
<bebeastie> anyone wanna lend a hand about the upnp implementation?
<mort> read http://azureus.sourceforge.net/howto_win.php
<veix> u mean i have to start azureus from command line mode to do this? its kinda annoying to start it every time from cmd to set it or it is a one time set?
<mort> everytime, just mkae a shortcut for it
<Schiz0> right click the shortcut for azureus on the desktop, and add it on to the command line in the properties
<veix> hmm is 64 mb enough?
<mort> iirc you can add a -J-Xmx to your azureus.exe shortcut
<mort> that should work with 2.3.0.6
<veix> ok, ill try
<veix> ok it needs restart
<veix> bbl
<veix> uh im so sorry, im such a noob, i tried -xmx64m and it said no such file or folder :(
<Schiz0> You just add it on to the end of the command..
<veix> "C:\Program Files\Azureus\Azureus.exe" -Xmx64m
<veix> at the moment its like this
<Schiz0> put it inside the "
<Schiz0> with a space after the "
<veix> oh ill try
