<SteveWrightNZ> air accident report <J4k3> ick <J4k3> thats no fun <SteveWrightNZ> it certainly ****en wasnt either <J4k3> eek <J4k3> somebody get hurt? <SteveWrightNZ> lucky I didnt break something real bad <J4k3> ack <SteveWrightNZ> like his ****en neck <SteveWrightNZ> naw <SteveWrightNZ> nasty tho <J4k3> hehe <SteveWrightNZ> dumb **** modified my glider <SteveWrightNZ> then sends me off in it <J4k3> wtf <J4k3> I'd beat *** <SteveWrightNZ> so I get airborne, and wtf? this aint right <SteveWrightNZ> nar I just walked <SteveWrightNZ> 8-P <J4k3> CAA? <SteveWrightNZ> civil aviation authority <SteveWrightNZ> like ur FAA ? <J4k3> ahh <J4k3> damage your glider? <SteveWrightNZ> yup <SteveWrightNZ> ****ed it <J4k3> **** <J4k3> thats no good at all <J4k3> at least you're alright <SteveWrightNZ> yeah man <J4k3> can always get another glider, can't get another you <J4k3> ****in telco <J4k3> customer's # has been busy for 2 hours <J4k3> and they aren't online <J4k3> so I'm going to guess theres a short on the line <J4k3> cuz i know he's got call waiting too <variable> or talking up a storm <variable> what you have down there? sbc? <dtm> word. <J4k3> Valor Telecom <J4k3> which means <J4k3> "a telco owned by mexicans" <J4k3> literally.. mexican citizens own our ****ing telco <J4k3> and it works accordingly. <variable> lol <variable> j4k3 u said before verizon changed their name, what was it before? <J4k3> "GTE Southwest" <J4k3> and before that (before 1991 or so) it was contel <J4k3> contel had this area in very good shape (in a late 80s sort of way) when they left. GTE literally destroyed everything <J4k3> they had a good switch that actually worked. It was replaced by a physically buggy DMS-100/200 <variable> so gte southwest somehow ****ed more than verizon? <J4k3> they're the same company <J4k3> Verizon is history here... they sold all but a few exchanges that they deemed "profitable" <variable> aye, i just mean in general as far as names go <variable> sweet, thats good for you <J4k3> not really <J4k3> they're in the DSL business, they just **** horribly at it. <J4k3> which is good and bad <J4k3> good in the fact they ****, bad in the way it gives "broadband" a bad name. <J4k3> of course, what DSL provider doesn't give broadband a bad name? I had to spend $160/mo with SBC to get ADSL that didn't all-out ****. <variable> ya, id be happy if they got taken down <J4k3> yeah, telco people come under the cl*** of folks I would piss on if I saw some on fire, but I'd hope I was pissing gas. <J4k3> ;) <J4k3> got my new SR2's today <J4k3> I sent in "SR2_REV1" and I got "SR2D_REV2" back. <J4k3> the routing at the antenna connectors seems more sane. <variable> lol, and sweet <variable> sweet deal <J4k3> yeah got one sitting in an openwrt box running kismet <variable> nice <J4k3> and I can delete the 3+ db eating ****ball ufl pigtail :) <J4k3> rg174u on this mmcx pigtail <J4k3> maybe it won't **** <variable> ya, ufl is gay <variable> mmcx is much better <variable> hey, im going to email the rmw creator, tell me how this sounds: <variable> Hello, <variable> I have been using Radio Mobile for some time now and must say it is truely a great tool for any wireless application. I run a small Wisp, and use the program to map my network out. I have noticed several things in my use of the Radio Mobile that, while perfect for many applications, could be adjusted to be more Wisp oriented. I was just wondering if the source for Radio Mobile has ever been released, or if you have ever considered releasing it, as <variable> maybe with some community help, a more wisp-oriented piece of software, while leaving Radio Mobile intact. <variable> hum, ignore the crazy wording working on that now <variable> ok, redone <variable> Hello, <variable> I have been using Radio Mobile for some time now and must say it is truely a great tool for any wireless application. I run a small Wisp, and use the program to map my network out. I have noticed several things in my use of Radio Mobile that, while perfect for many applications, could be adjusted to be more Wisp oriented. I was just wondering if the source for Radio Mobile has ever been released, or if you have ever considered releasing it, as ma <variable> ybe with some community help, a more wisp-oriented piece of software could be created, while leaving Radio Mobile intact. <J4k3> makes sense to me <variable> ok good, ill send the email out then <J4k3> wow, awesome <J4k3> this new SR2 vs the old SR2 on the tower <J4k3> the new one seems to work better, but alas its not at the top of the tower yet <variable> are all new ones they ship going to be v2? <J4k3> I'd guess so <J4k3> mine were the 'recalled' models <J4k3> hmm, setting pureg works nicely. <J4k3> I'd rather run 9mbit G than 11mbit B outdoors. <J4k3> just have to set it before the interface is brought up or it segfaults and stops the wireless interface <variable> why? <Eggplant> J4k3, how much data do you get out of staros-staros with 9mb g? <J4k3> I don't run staros on client ends. <J4k3> nor would I get cought buying another license of their crap. <Eggplant> ah <Eggplant> opps <J4k3> yeah... not quite pleased with them at all ;) <Eggplant> how come? <J4k3> well <variable> use mikrotik <Eggplant> i know the starwarVX stuff is, upsetting (and thel ies) <J4k3> they promise a lot, deliver very little of it. <Eggplant> variable, I use both, they each have there place <J4k3> yeah, my rb532 ships today. <J4k3> its either going to be mikrotik or openwrt (which will support the box soon) <Eggplant> starOS does a decent ip tunnel so i can hide my adsl (and its lower ping for most of the net!) <Eggplant> will support what box? <J4k3> Routerboard 500-series <variable> you wont be disappointed with rb532 i dont think <J4k3> yeah, I suspect it'll be a great workhorse <Eggplant> openwrt will run on a RB? sweet <variable> whats openwrt made off bsd? <SteveWrightNZ> rb500 series has USB ? <J4k3> Eggplant: soooon. <J4k3> no USB <J4k3> SteveWrightNZ: of course.. you could build a USB-to-minipci card :) <Eggplant> J4k3, Now we jsut need MT running on openwrt (or the same devices) and wispdom woudl explode! <SteveWrightNZ> ahh <SteveWrightNZ> PG flight computer <J4k3> Eggplant: MT is too chubby to fit. <Eggplant> yes i know, but if MT was smart they woudl make a "CPE" version that would fit <J4k3> the only thing mikrotik has that openwrt/madwifi doesn't is nstreme. <J4k3> MT is too busy trying to pretend to be in the hardware market. <Eggplant> id pay $5~10/cpe to get MT's ath nad broadcom drivers <Eggplant> ya, valvemount is trying the same <J4k3> they want you to buy $120 RB511's instead of the equally powerful $30-40 openwrt-compat device. <Eggplant> bah <J4k3> I call it 'lonniesoft" or "lonnie-ware" :) <variable> i dont think linksys wrt is as powerful as rb532 <Eggplant> they would make far more in software bringing the goodness of MT to said cheap hardware <J4k3> variable: same arch, less mhz (plenty enough to slam the one atheros card installed). <Eggplant> lol J4k3, apt <variable> is openwrt bsd ? <J4k3> openwrt is linux <variable> ok <variable> minix3 is out <variable> i am looking at it now <SteveWrightNZ> minix is still in development ?? <Eggplant> all i NEED that openwrt doesnt have is ack timing =( (i know that is a madwifi issue, staros and mt both have it "solved" tho) <J4k3> Eggplant: uh... athctrl -i ath0 -d [distance in meters] <J4k3> works great, so wtf is your problem? :) <variable> yep minix3 out today i think <variable> http://linux.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/10/24/1049200&tid=190&tid=106 <Eggplant> J4k3, i guess that i need to RTFM more, last i look there was no ack for madwifi <SteveWrightNZ> variable: weird ;-)
