<SteveWrightNZ> hjohnson: errors on that site
<SteveWrightNZ> pm ?
<hjohnson> SteveWrightNZ: what site?
<SteveWrightNZ> marspostcards
<SteveWrightNZ> The following albums in your gallery were created with an older version of the software and are out of date.
<hjohnson> SteveWrightNZ: swtrange, I thought I fixed that
<SteveWrightNZ> I clicked dont
<SteveWrightNZ> and its fine now
<SteveWrightNZ> "done"
<hjohnson> ahh
<hjohnson> http://gallery.marspostcards.ca/Swimming/IMG_6181
<variable> jnorell: how did you setup web and ftp folders to use mysql ?
<hjohnson> she's coming to see me in a few weeks!
<SteveWrightNZ> awesome
<hjohnson> http://gallery.marspostcards.ca/SpaceSuit/IMG_6130
<variable> she work for nasa?
<hjohnson> variable: no, she's one of the Inuit that was helping out in camp
<SteveWrightNZ> yeah, helping hjohnson
<variable> cool
<SteveWrightNZ> wots with the suit ?
<jnorell> variable: didn't, that's on the stuff left to do
<hjohnson> she'll be the first woman, in the history of her town, to go onto post secondary education
<jnorell> proftpd supports database authentication, I believe
<SteveWrightNZ> hjohnson: because of you ?
<hjohnson> SteveWrightNZ: testing informatics and navigation systems
<jnorell> was gonna look at that and maybe a webdav interface for homepages
<hjohnson> SteveWrightNZ: i'm helping her out, yeah.
<SteveWrightNZ> suite ok
<SteveWrightNZ> hjohnson: awesome
<hjohnson> she's like my little Inuk sister. ;0
<SteveWrightNZ> for sure 8-)
<SteveWrightNZ> lol
<hjohnson> anyhow, the space suit is a project by Hamilton Sundstrand, the same group that does the EMUs for the shuttle
<hjohnson> they use HMP as a test bed for navigation and visibility testing for their prototype suits for planetary exploration
<SteveWrightNZ> thats the coolest thing I ever heard of
<SteveWrightNZ> nearly
<curious_> no live pics from ulysses though
<variable> jnorell: so for ftp, do you have each user setup with their own directory?
<hjohnson> there's a pic, somewhere, of Mario Runco (retired astronaut) in the suit, on an ATV/Quad carrying a .303 rifle
<SteveWrightNZ> heh
<hjohnson> most of the sun images come from SOHO
<hjohnson> which rides out at what, L1 or L3?
<SteveWrightNZ> curious_: see xearth
<jnorell> variable: yeah, we have very few personal webpages, but just manually create a traditional unix account for those at the moment
<hjohnson> anyhow, the weather is deteriorating, so I ought to go out for a walk
<SteveWrightNZ> good boy 8-D
<variable> jnorell: how are you thinking it is going to work, i am just try to figure out how the user will have a directory on the server, when they are auth-ed from the db
<variable> ?
<fheiss> jnorell: I have no idea what that means
<jnorell> variable: dunno, probably have the php frontend setup the webserver for such users ... haven't worked out the details
<jnorell> fheiss: if you change from eg. ethernet to wireless from a different provider, you'll need to change your dns settings, too ... if that change is done via some script, make that same script reconfigure your dns at the same time
<jnorell> if you make the change manually, then change dns manually, too ... with enough time, that'll probably be enough impetus to get you looking into scripting :)
<fheiss> ok, I can just clear it each time I switch, since it gets them automatically fine... it just only wants to get them automatically ONCE
<variable> jnorell: ok, i suppose ftp/www dont matter so much anyways, so right now i ***ume you have the systems of mail, and billing complete, but still todo ftp,www right?
<jnorell> yeah
<jnorell> actually billing is seperate (commercial windows system that manages our paging terminal, too)
<variable> oh, so sofar it is just mail that is integrated with mysql
<variable> ?
<jnorell> mail, radius auth (dialup), dhcp/bandwidth limitting (wireless)
<SteveWrightNZ> growl, trademe has ****ed out again
<SteveWrightNZ> connection refused !
<Rawplayer> re
<variable> jnorell: how is bandwidth limiting setup? auth by ip or mac?
<jnorell> mostly mac addr .. for static ip addrs, it's both mac + ip

Return to wireless
