<Ryannon> part of the problem wiht the power being out is that they shut down the nuclear plant 12 hours before a hurricane is expected to hi

<`jules> Ryannon, I had an adjuster call me today who indicated there are parts which got hit hard not from the hurricane but from tornados
<Ryannon> a good 1/3 of the people that dont have power is because there is no feed from FPL. they have to go in, determine an area is safe and then turn it back on
<Ryannon> that is always the case with a hurricane jules, tornadoes are up there with storm surge when it comes to causing damage

<`jules> we were without power for almost 2 wks... but we have a generator... but still with that we didn't have hot water
<Ryannon> and you survived
<`jules> and we didn't have any a/c except for one room which was in my mother's bedroom

<Kronovohr> hot water isn't a problem as long as you bathe and use a cookstove or fire to heat some water up to bathe with
